Hot Chilli Internet Closure

We recently gained a new client due the upcoming closure of Hot Chilli Internet Services in London. Their reasons for closing seemed to be that they were not making enough margin on their services, but the abrupt nature of stopping their services must have caused some issues around the country.

While not in the know about their circumstances, we are presuming that a lot of their services were provided on in house systems which probably needed upgrading or investment. This sort of model is starting to become obsolete with the various cloud providers out there, and is something that we have built into our offerings at every stage, so that cost saving benefits can be brought to our clients, and in the unlikely event that Claytabase ever closed, we could very easily hand over our cloud servers and the service could be continued.

• It looks like 123-Reg were accepting the domain transfer free of charge, Go Daddy wanted to charge, with this in mind it is probably best to use 123-reg and set up an account if you don't have one. These take a few days to go through, so best to get it done quickly.
• If you have email then set up an Office 365 or G-Suite account, which ever you prefer, as Microsoft has a default yourdomain.onmicrosoft.com account from the start, you can use it more quickly.
• Add the required new DNS records to your new registrars system.
• If you have 2 or fewer accounts, it will probably be easiest to migrate by copying and pasting using you email program like Outlook between your new domain and old domain.
• If you have many accounts then there are migration tools in both Office 365 and G-Suite. Feel free to get in touch if you need us to do this.
• Get your site transferred quickly to another provider or to us, we have performed an upgrade to our clients site, but have some capacity for copying over a few more before the end of March 18.
• Relax for a while!
• If you want us to look at performing some upgrades after March then we can agree a future plan.
  

Website Hosting

Centrally hosted on Azure Server, it could theoretically be handed over to anyone else, the chances of Microsoft going bankrupt is pretty much zero, so again it provides a level of guarantee the you can rely on.

DNS Management

Ousia CMS comes with Google, Azure or Amazon based DNS management, and an interface from our site to the provider allows for easy updating of your records. Due to the nature of storage, a client will always be able to access the data via normal channels.

Email Hosting

In partnership with Microsoft and Google, we offer Office 365 or G-Suite, and again can be managed via normal channels. As with DNS management, there is a portal than you can use to manage user accounts.

Below are the re-branded and original sites.

The original logo was saved as a small image, so to get higher resolution we needed to redo it. To make the logo stand out on the most amount of colours white was chosen instead of black, and the original white changed to Orange.

The rest of the site used all of the standard features within Ousia and was up and running within a couple of hours.
